The “reading wars” seem to be back again. Schools are under increasing pressure from parents, media, and public officials to follow the “science of reading.” But what is the science of reading? This presentation will explore some of the claims made in the name of science and provide advice on how to better interpret reading science along with practical recommendations for bringing a science of reading into the classroom.
